Twenty heroines from outside Karnataka have been imported in the 125 Kannada films released in 2011. The local talent from Sakleshpur earned the bumper! It was twenty against one!

The bright and bubbling Kannada actress Deepa Sannidhi is the star of the New Year among the newcomers. Interesting is that no other regular heroine got two continuous hits in the whole year. Deepa Sannidhi two big hits are – Sarathi opposite Darshan and Paramathma with Puneeth Rajakumar. She turned the lucky heroine too. She has scores of offers on hand.

Ramya of course the senior had one super hit ‘Sanju Weds Geetha’ and average hit ‘Johny Mere Naam’, Ragini in Kempegowda, Radhika Pandit in Hudugaru, Aindrita Ray in ‘Paramathma’, Nidhi Subbaiah in ‘Krishnan marriage Story’, Mallu girl Bhavana from ‘Jackie’ of last year continued with a lucky film ‘Vishnuvardhana’.

Among the young heroes it is a good beginning for Srikanth of Olave Mandhara. He literally ran for the position. He runs from Bengaluru to Assam to find his love. It is in this film the heroine Akanksha Naresh, director Jayatheertha, cameraman Ravikumar Sana also given striking performance. For Govindaraju the new producer of this film it is safe only from the Telugu and Tamil versions despite of ‘Olave Mandhara’ running to 100 days in Triveni theatre in Bengaluru.

Among the debut producers it is KV Sathyaprakash of Sarathi earned a bumper. For Rs.7 crore investment the film ‘Sarathi’ made Rs.22 crores business for 75 days.

Besides Jayatheertha of Olave Mandhara, it is Pawan Kumar as debut director from ‘Lifu Ishtene’ come out in flying colors. He has added some portions after a few weeks to the film. He was locked in censor problem too. The net result is fine for the producers. The song Yarig Helona Namma Problemmu….of Pawan Kumar debut film was one of the popular tunes of 2011. Next is HP Ravindra from ‘Mathe Banni Pritsona’ given a good debut but sadly the film was released again. At last month of the year P Kumar from ‘Vishnuvardhana’ gave a striking debut as director.

Among the other new heroines are Ovia from ‘Kirataka’ appeared in second version but sister role ‘Abhinaya’ dumb actress of ‘Hudugaru’ hit a hat trick for appearing in all the three versions – Nadodigal, Shambo Shankara and Hudugaru in Kannada. It is Karishma Tanna of ‘I am Sorry Mathe Banni Pritsona’ came down from Mumbai to say that she has not kissed Premkumar in the film. The re-released film received rave reviews for a neat making.
